Vista = big fat bust in the home market.
Moving to Vista made me switch some software to vista compatible versions & that itself caused some compatibility issues in Vista which I didn't have with XP. An example: I use Perfectdisk v8 as a defrag program & Free compusec to encrypt the hard disk of my laptop, incase it is stolen.

I understand the EULA and my hardware is 100% compatible with XP Pro. That said ... I have a new workstation that came with Vista Business and Downgrade I'd much prefer to wipe the disk clean and start anew so I can partition the hard drive from the get go - booting into the XP Pro installation from the CD.

My notebook does not have a BIOS option to enable IDE compatibility mode. To use hard drive drivers during installation, they must either be slip streamed into the CD or put on a floppy drive. They can not be read off of a non-slipstreamed CD, flash drive or anything other then a floppy or slipstreamed CD.
